Australian Plants Society Grampians Group

The Australian Plants Society Grampians Group (APSGG) meets at 7.30pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, with the exception of January, at the Pomonal Hall.

The enthusiastic group has over 40 members from all over the Grampians area and their gardening and botanical knowledge ranges from beginner to expert and everything in between. The group’s interesting annual program of guest speakers, slideshows, members’ presentations, outings and excursions and propagation nights provides great variety. There is an extensive botanical library that is available to members. At each monthly meeting the plant raffle involving the famous hot pink raffle barrel is eagerly anticipated, as is the great supper and the well supported flower table. Members and visitors are welcome to show and talk about specimens from their own gardens or to bring in specimens for identification by our members.

The highlight of the year’s program is always the annual Pomonal Native Flower Show held on the first weekend in October.

The group meets regularly to tend the local shop garden and the newly planted Pomonal Community Hall garden, both of which are planted with Grampians and other Australian Native species.

To be a member of APSGG you must also be a member of APS Victoria. Membership entitles you to 4 excellent APS Victoria newsletters per year and free seed from the seed bank.

Visitors and new members are always welcome.
