Australian Plants Society – Grampians Group
The Australian Plant Society – Grampians Group Inc. (APSGG) welcomes guests and new members from across the greater Grampians region who have an interest in growing Australian plants. If you have taken on an established Australian garden, or want to start an Australian Garden or just have an interest in Australian plants, our group will provide a wonderful forum for you to meet like-minded people to develop your knowledge. We also take a particular interest in plants that are unique to this area.
Our aims and objectives are to
- cultivate, propagate and conserve Australian plants,
- organise excursions, events and activities aimed at increasing the knowledge and appreciation of Australian plants,
- collaborate with other groups on projects deemed to be of mutual interest, and
- support the aims and objectives of the Australian Plants Society of Victoria and the Australian Native Plants Society of Australia.
Members regularly meet on the third Tuesday of each month or the third Saturday in winter to hear expert guest speakers and network with other members.
Other activities may include:
- Excursions / walks to enjoy our local flora or further afield as relevant.
- Propagating workshops.
- Maintenance working bees (for the two gardens we are custodians of.)
- Participation in the annual ‘Pomonal Native Flower Show’.
