Budja Budja Aboriginal Co-operative
The Budja Budja Aboriginal Co-operative was established in mid-1999 to deliver necessary health and social services in response to the needs of the expanding local Aboriginal community. It has grown significantly since then and now offers services to the broader non-indigenous community as well.
Budja Budja is an Accredited Medical Clinic and the only primary health care, GP and community health facility in Halls Gap and surrounds. It is highly valued by the whole community across Budja’s Health Service region.
The Cooperative also operates from a second facility in Ararat which was opened in 2023. Both facilities assist in ensuring the delivery of culturally safe indigenous services in a welcoming environment, and provide broader services to all members of both communities. For a full list of the extensive health and well-being services provided, please refer to the Budja Budja web site.
