Halls Gap & Grampians Historical Society
The Halls Gap & Grampians Historical Society is a subcommittee of the Community Association of Halls Gap. It is a small group dedicated to recording, preserving and sharing the history of Halls Gap and the Grampians. Working bees are held on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month. If you are interested in joining our dedicated workers, pop into the History rooms between 2.30-4.00 pm on one of these days.
The Society has a large collection of photos and postcards as well as other historical documents and items. It has published a book, “Victoria’s Wonderland, A Grampians history”, which is available from the Halls Gap Newsagency and the Visitor Information Centre. It also has a “History Room”, located in the front of the Halls Gap Centenary Hall, which contains numerous displays.
Drop in and say hello to Chas who opens the History Room from 2.00pm – 4.30pm every afternoon except Tuesdays. The History Room can also be opened for viewing at other times by appointment.
New members are very welcome, so if you are interested or would just like to have a look, please phone or come and see us!
