U3A Stawell & District
Who we are: The U3A movement in Australia began in Victoria and has expanded nation-wide. U3As were established as autonomous groups, with their own administration and curriculum according to the needs and interests of each group. There are now about 300 U3As in Australia, with about 100,000 members.
In Victoria there are 109 U3As and membership is steadily growing. U3A Stawell and District has been a member of U3A network for over 30 years. It is run entirely by volunteers.
Our Fees: Low-cost annual membership fee of $25 per year.
What We Provide: We provide lifelong learning and social connection to seniors (55 years plus) who are retired or semi-retired. We encourage community engagement, provide opportunities for members to learn new skills, and for members to share their skills and expertise on a voluntary basis, and friendship. We thereby maintain the health and well-being of seniors within the community.
